ABOUT PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN
ABOUT PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN
Formed in 2001, Proudly South African was one of the GDS (Presidential Jobs Summit) structures which was co-owned by Business, the then President Mandela. The country's official buy local advocacy campaign is charged with championing the country's companies and products, thereby unlocking opportunity.
Our campaign seeks to influence local procurement in the public and private sectors, to increase local production and in the process create employment. Our key focal areas are quality, local content, fair labour practices, and environmental standards. The campaign carries a B-BBEE Level 1 BEE status and 135% procurement recognition.
Proudly South Africa collaborates closely with the Departments of Trade, Industry and Competition as well as Small Business Development, to fulfill its mandate to create jobs through the stimulation of local production and procurement. Proudly SA owns and operates the annual Buy Local Summit and Expo that seeks to advance the interests of local procurement.
Proudly South African utilizes and acknowledges the importance of social media platforms and has pages on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube. Our website (www.proudlysa.co.za) serves as an online platform for member companies.
